Behind the scenes at Saturday’s shoot with artist number 2 of 100, Allison Halter. Allison is a wickedly sardonic performance artist who’s a cross between Ziggy Stardust and Debbie Harry. I love her.

As always, something had to go amiss. Instead of buying the mylar curtain I wanted, I ended up with fringe. So I had to bust out the tape and a stapler —quite resourcefully I might add— to layer it for a similar effect. That’s what I get for only spending 4 minutes at Lippman’s 20 minutes before the shoot.

For this shot I used my 580EX II Speedlite with the Interfit Stellar Beauty Dish Reflector and attached it with the Gary Fong Lumisphere. I got the idea to fit the flash using the Lumisphere from this wonderful B & H video http://youtu.be/vCQorCGhFHk. For fill, I used one of my Impact VC-500LR monolights. Allison’s eyes show the placement of each light.

We had such a great time. Luckily she had a limited time frame, otherwise I could have spent all day shooting her. I am looking forward to getting the post work done!
